Boo 3! A Madea Halloween (2024) brings back the larger-than-life Madea for another round of spooky hilarity, but this time, the scares are amped up with a unique horror twist. After her previous Halloween encounters, Madea thinks she’s seen it all, but this year she finds herself in the middle of a real haunted house scenario when she agrees to babysit for her cousin’s teenage twins at their new, creepy old house on the edge of town.
The night starts with the usual antics: Madea enforces strict rules, but the teens sneak out to join a Halloween party. Left alone, Madea starts hearing eerie noises, strange whispers, and even encounters ghostly apparitions in mirrors and shadows. Things take a more frightening turn when she finds an old Ouija board in the basement and unwittingly unleashes a mischievous, malevolent spirit.
Madea calls in the whole crew — Bam, Hattie, and Joe — for backup, and their antics lead to one outrageous encounter after another. The spirit begins playing pranks on them, and the night escalates into a wild, comedic fight for survival as they try to banish the ghost using any “spiritual” remedies they can think of. From makeshift exorcisms to chasing down ghosts with pots and pans, they pull out all the stops.
The climax has Madea facing the spirit in a hilariously over-the-top showdown. In the end, it’s revealed that the ghostly happenings were a prank set up by the teens, but an actual spirit decides to appear, leaving them all running in terror.
